Celebrate the Legacy of

Wade Young

Retirement Reception & Tribute Celebration

For 16 years, Wade Young shaped the lives of Churchill Theatre students, not only as an exceptional educator and director, but as a mentor, encourager, and steadfast champion of young people.

Through Wade's leadership, countless students found confidence, belonging, artistic voice, and lifelong friendships on and beyond the Churchill stage.

Now, it is our turn to celebrate the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.

The Association of Churchill Theatre Supporters (ACTS) is proud to host a retirement reception in Wade’s honor, and establish the Wade Young Mentorship Award, a lasting tribute to the qualities that have defined his extraordinary career.

We invite current and former Churchill theatre students, families, faculty, administrators, and members of the greater San Antonio theater community to join us for an evening honoring Wade’s impact and celebrating all he has meant to generations of students.

The Wade Young Mentorship Award

As part of this celebration, ACTS is honored to establish The Wade Young Mentorship Award, an annual recognition that reflects the heart of Wade’s legacy.

Presented each year to a graduating Churchill Theatre senior, the award will honor a student who embodies Wade’s spirit of mentorship, kindness, encouragement, and belief in others—someone who consistently uplifts fellow performers, inspires confidence, and strengthens the Churchill Theatre community through genuine leadership and support.

The award will also include a scholarship to support the recipient’s future educational or career pursuits, ensuring Wade’s impact continues for generations to come.

Help Us Honor Wade
